Sanje ob Soci

This stylish little boutique hotel lies on the outskirts of the little town of Bovec in the Julian Alps and surrounded by mountains of Triglav National Park is our choice of base for exploring the area. The delightful, but very cold, turquoise waters of the River Soca are close by.

The overall style is of a chalet with wood cladding giving the hotel a striking appearance. Enter and the staff are very friendly and helpful as you might expect from a family-run property. Rooms are spread over several floors including at ground level and are modern and somewhat minimalist by design. There are also a number of apartments that are ideal for families, taking between 2 and 5 persons. Some double rooms have a hot tub but most rooms have a spacious walk-in shower. Whilst there is not a restaurant (but there is a good choice a few minutes walk away in town) they do serve an excellent breakfast buffet which can be taken in the open plan dining area or outside on the terrace.

Sanje ob Soci also has a small spa area with a sauna and whirlpool hot tub that are available at a small cost. All in all this is an pleasant and accessible place to stay in Bovec and the perfect location for getting out and enjoying hikes and other activities in this popular area.
