Description

This outstanding itinerary takes in the rugged unspoiled beauty of the fjords and inlets that dot the coastline of the British Columbia mainland, northwest of Vancouver; allowing you to discover and learn about grizzly bears, orcas, sea lions and dolphins, observe rock paintings by First Nations tribes and explore breath-taking coastal temperate rainforests.

Your journey begins on the Sunshine Coast with a 3 night stay at West Coast Wilderness Lodge. Here you can kayak the protected waters of Sechelt Inlet, hike, bike and explore by Zodiac and savour the freshest seasonal fare. As you travel from lodge to lodge by float plane on this fly-in safari, marvel at the expanse of the Great Bear Rainforest and be amazed at the Yaculta Rapids as you pass overhead. Kick back at Sonora Resort – one of North America's most luxurious wilderness lodges. Here outdoor enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice with unlimited hiking, a host of nature tours and the opportunity to fish some of the world's most famous salmon-filled rivers or discover remote glaciers by helicopter, while the spa may tempt you to indulge in less strenuous activities.

From the pristine waters of Bute Inlet cruise through the stunning Discovery Islands to Campbell River before flying to Gledale Cove, home to one of the largest concentrations of grizzly bears in British Columbia and Knight Inlet Lodge. From this floating lodge embark on informative and interpretive tours with professional and enthusiastic guides to witness all manner of wildlife from whales to bald eagles with a focus on bears. Go wildlife tracking and explore the estuary by kayak before heading back to civilization to spend some time discovering the delights of cosmopolitan Vancouver.
