Take an excursion into the heart of Botswana, where few people venture to the fascinating pans of the Makgadikgadi on the edge of the Kalahari Desert. This is a land of stark contrasts, during the wet season the pans fill with water attracting thousands of birds such as flamingos, pelicans and geese, as well as migrating wildebeest and zebra; where as in the dry season the water disappears and the endless salt pans become an adventure's playground on which you get around by quad bike and a real wilderness experience where you will understand much more about the making of Botswana and enjoy the nature of the desert. We think most special of all is sitting with meerkats and then taking a walk with them as they forage on their daily outings. But then interacting with the San Bushmen and making fire with them is a memory to be treasured too.
