Oulanka national Park is part of a network of protected areas across Europe; an untouched wilderness and a nature lover's paradise. If you seek adventure and love the outdoors then look no further.

Situated just south of the Arctic Circle and bordering Russia to the east, this beautiful area is home to bears, wolves, wolverine, lynx and a plethora of birdlife including the Siberian Jay and capercaillie.

Our 5 day 'Wild Adventures in Oulanka' itinerary allows you to experience adrenaline fuelled outdoor activities in the company of fully qualified and experienced guides, as you cover some of the most scenic areas of the park. Raft the white waters of the Kitka River which winds its way through pristine forest and rugged canyons to a remote cabin for your first overnight wilderness experience. Traverse the forest trails on mountain bikes to Oulanka Visitors Centre where you can learn more about the parks history, geology and nature. After another night in a wilderness cabin it's time to slow the pace with a more gentle canoe from the base of Kiutaköngäs waterfall as the meandering flow of the Oulanka River takes you past sandy banks and through pine clad river valleys. The ultimate highlight of this trip has to be the unforgettable experience of observing the brown bear in its natural environment close to the Russian border.

At the end of this action packed few days return to the home comforts of a small and friendly wilderness hotel where a warm welcome and hearty Finnish cuisine await.
