On this short winter break discover the regions breath-taking beauty and spectacular nature for yourself as you take in the delights of Akureyri and experience the very best of Lake Myvatn. With opportunities for winter activities and remote northern lights viewing, this really is the perfect short break.
Spend a night in Reykjavik before embarking on your northern adventure the following morning. After a short flight to Akureyri, enjoy a sightseeing tour as you transfer to Myvatn. The Myvatn region has gained an excellent reputation for its winter fun, allowing you to head out on a cross country ski or snowshoe trip, try winter horse riding or experience a snowmobile or husky safari. Winter sightseeing tours are also available taking you to stunning landmarks such as Godafoss, Dettifoss and the mystical Dimmuborgir or simply choose to relax in the warm waters of Myvatn Nature Baths. There will be time to explore the colourful town of Akureyri before returning to Reykjavik for a final night but with so much to still discover why not extend your time in this wonderful country.
