Cristalino Lodge

Reached by a flight into the ranching town of Alta Floresta a short road transfer and river boat trip bring you eventually round a bend and into a beautiful lodge with an imposing deck and open plan main area. The rooms are well spaced through the immediate grounds and surrounded by the forest. Here you are immediately aware of the birds and wildlife surrounding your splendid oasis. Leaf cutter ants march across the paths with their load.

Rooms are en suite, spacious and exceedingly comfortable, all have ceiling fans and their design is such that maximum ventilation can be achieved.

Complimenting the main area there is a floating deck on the river for star gazing or from which to swim during the day.

This area of the Amazon rainforest is a biodiversity hotspot. For birdwatchers this is a major destination with over 600 species recorded and the lodge has 2 canopy towers for birding and wildlife observation. Seven primate species can be found, most commonly seen are tufted-capuchin monkeys, Spix's red-handed howler monkeys, white-whiskered spider monkey and white-nosed saki. Several species may be seen from the water as you transfer into Cristalino Lodge. The region has also recorded the most butterfly species of anywhere in Brazil, with over 1000species, or around 30% of the identified butterflies in the country.

Throughout your wanderings on trails, by canoe or to the canopy towers you will be accompanied by guides passionate about the area.

Evenings are relaxed back in the spacious main lodge where meals are served based on local cuisine but with a more gastronomic twist.
