Introduction

This excellent example of a combined lodge and research centre is one of the remotest lodges in the whole of the Amazon rainforest. More than 3 hours up river from Puerto Maldonado it is certainly isolated in a pristine part of Tambopata National Reserve.

Dedicated to conservation the journey here for nature enthusiasts is well worth it. You can expect a comfortable lodge immersed in terrific wildlife.

The lodge itself comprises of a large open dining and lounge area where time is spent relaxing in the middle of the day and during evenings. Along raised wooden walkways are the rooms in 4 different categories from "comfort" to "deluxe suites". All are open air to the forest to let any breeze through and all beds have mosquito nets. All rooms have en suite bathrooms with a hot shower. The deluxe suites come with an additional outdoor bath tub.

It is also worth pointing out that the open nature of the accommodation means that you really feel immersed in the rainforest with all the commensurate sounds day and night.
