Conservation area & sheep farm in spectacular scenery on the edge of the Flinders Ranges

Introduction

On the southern edge of Wilpena Pound and the Flinders Ranges National Park, Arkaba Station, a 60,000 acre sheep station, is nestled in some of the most spectacular outback scenery in Australia.

Arkaba Homestead offers just 4 air-conditioned bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom and classically designed with the homesteads heritage in mind. A further en suite bedroom is available in the Coachman's Cottage located in a quiet corner of the garden.

Classic Australian country hospitality is the order of the day and traditional station cuisine can be enjoyed during hosted dinners on the terrace, with views to the ranges beyond. Guests are invited to choose their South Australian wine from the cellar before dinner and an open bar allows for the perfect nightcap as the sun sets over the red outback.

During your stay you can enjoy a range of activities that will take you from the ancient seabed to the mountain ranges. Travel by 4x4 and discover breathtaking outback scenery and an amazing array of wildlife from Red & Grey Kangaroos and emus to the rarer Yellow-footed Rock Wallabies that reside in the hills. Visit Arkaba Woolshed for an insight into life on a working sheep station or simply relax in the heat of the afternoon by the wet edge pool which overlooks Arkaba Creek.

This is truly an outback experience not to be missed.
