The Chobe River is rightly famous for its elephants, combine this with wildlife of the Okavango for a short safari

This safari holiday can be re-designed and tailor-made for your own unique experience

Introduction

For a short safari to experience to great locations on a sensible budget, (the Okavango is not a budget destination but the rewards for entering this pristine wilderness are high) start your Botswana safari by seeking out the wildlife of the Chobe River from Kasane. The waterfront here is known to draw in hundreds of elephants in the dry season.

Later fly into a remote camp in the Okavango Delta area for prime wildlife viewing. End your trip with a short light aircraft flight out to Maun to connect onwards.

We think this Holiday Idea is also a useful starting point for creating a family safari holiday in Botswana.

On this short safari, that notably can be combined with safaris in other locations of with, for instance, Cape Town; you will get a real taste of the phenomenal experiences in nature that an Okavango safari will bring.

First though you fly into Kasane where within a few minutes you can be resting at a lodge on the Chobe River waterfront. This popular destination is perfect for river cruises, during the daytime searching for wildlife - think elephants swimming across the river, crocs and hippos or at sunset to relax and enjoy a quiet drink as the African sun sinks lower in the sky.

Inevitably the Okavango Delta is the draw and a short flight in a light aircraft will deposit you in the wilderness that is teeming with wildlife. Your chosen camp will have a variety of activities dependent upon its location and current water levels. Let us advise you based on your preferences and budget as not all camps and areas provide the same classic Botswana safari experience.

We are sure you will be reluctant to leave but a short hop out of the Okavango brings you to Maun where you can connect with international flight departures.
