This classic tour of Kenya starts with a scheduled flight north past Mt. Kenya to Samburu. The arid lands of the north primarily support wildlife around the rivers and Samburu National Park is no exception with numerous animals seen in the vicinity of the Ewaso Nyiro River that borders the southern edge of the park and it is here that the lodges and camps are located. Beyond lie interesting hills to discover. Samburu is worth visiting to see the herds of elephant but also specialties such as Grevy's zebra and in particular Beisa oryx that will not be seen elsewhere on this trip.

The great Rift Valley is your next stop and is reached on another Air Kenya scheduled flight. The region is characterised by the number of lakes, freshwater Naivasha with its hippos and bird life, small Elementaita, the soda lake of Nakuru where you will see flamingos and in the national park, rhinos. Also in the area is the very scenic Hell's Gate National Park which supports a variety of game. You can also take the very enjoyable walk down the gorge here for an interesting excursion away from the vehicles.

Moving on again you come to the perhaps the highlight of the safari, the Masai Mara. The rolling grasslands and small riverine woodlands make for world renowned wildlife viewing. Your days will be spent seeking special wildlife encounters and are generally geared towards to your wishes. Specially adapted 4x4 vehicles usually take between 4 or 6 persons although you can request a private vehicle for an additional cost. This is truly Africa at one of its best and you will be sure to have a memorable stay here before flying off to the coast to stay a beach hotel of your choice.

Note. Dependent on flight times you may need a night on arrival in Nairobi. This can easily be arranged.
