One of the remotest camps in southern Africa in a spectacular wilderness desert setting

Introduction

Wilderness Serra Cafema is possibly the most remote camp in southern Africa, situated on the Kunene River, the border with Angola and backed by dunes of the Namib desert where the Himba still live a traditional life.

The 9 canvas and thatch deluxe chalets with wooden viewing decks are perched on the river bank overlooking the Kunene River.

This luxury camp is located in a stunning wilderness area of wild desert landscapes. It is a place to come to explore and experience and one of the best ways and certainly the most fun is by driving your own quad bike down remote dry valleys and descending sand dunes.

Wildlife is not without a mention with oryx and endangered bird species. Add in visits to the Himba tribes people and you have a wonderful base to explore from.

On raised decking the camp is situated under trees on the banks of the Kunene River and has been upgraded in recent years to a truly luxurious and private wilderness experience. Few will venture to Wilderness Serra Cafema but those that do are truly rewarded with memorable experiences.
