This lodge is certainly among the most secluded on the southern Osa Peninsula and with 185 acres of primary rainforest there is plenty of wildlife to enjoy on the property from scarlet macaws to sloths and all four of Costa Rica's monkey species.

El Remanso Lodge
Upmarket lodge surrounded in nature with views to the ocean
Tucked away down a winding track you will reach El Remanso, a small, high quality eco-lodge with Spanish flair.
There are a variety of standards of accommodation with a large family casa, deluxe suites, standard and deluxe cabins, as well as standard rooms yet the property feels small and intimate and besides being a great choice for wildlife enthusiasts, those looking to relax in the forest will also thoroughly enjoy El Remanso.
The open plan bamboo restaurant is at the heart of the lodge serving international and Costa Rican food. Close by and also overlooking the rainforest canopy is the pool and bar, which serves some of the best smoothies we have tasted in Costa Rica.
Therer are a number of trails that you can explore alone or with one of the excellent guides. The trail down to the beach 100m below is a steep climb back and for the more adventurous there is a zip wire to your own private deck for breakfast or abseils down the lodge's waterfalls.
Day trips into Corcovado National Park are also possible and on occasions evening lectures are given on conservation and wildlife. However you spend your time at El Remanso you are sure to enjoy the immersion in nature here.
