For those discerning safari-goers looking for an upmarket experience away from the crowds on safari but with some relaxation too, then this safari in Tanzania fits perfectly.

After a night in Dar es Salaam your flight takes you inland, west into the remote and beautiful wilderness of Ruaha National Park. Jabali Ridge is a small luxury lodge with superb suites, an infinity pool and spa. It will be your destination for the duration of your safari. Jabali is in a prime area of the park with good populations of wildlife around and truly incredible views over the African bush. It makes an excellent choice for game drives and for bush walks in particular. The Mwagusi River is close by too so the diversity of wildlife you can expect is high.

Reluctantly leaving the safari activities behind you fly to Pemba Island via Dar es Salaam. From the airstrip you transfer to the palm-fringed beach at Fundu Lagoon.

With a choice of good accommodation here, some right on the beach you have time to unwind and relax. This is a tropical dream.

For the more adventurous Pemba Island is a terrific dive destination. Diving is best at either end of the safari season and you can expect reef fish as well as pelagics and some drift dives in the current between the island and the mainland. The waters are warm peaking at around 28°C.

The less active are also likely to enjoy the spa at Fundu Lagoon too!
