Distinct from the rest of Canada, Quebec is a land of contrasts, from its fertile plains to the Appalachian Mountains, forest, taiga and tundra swath the land which is dotted with over a million lakes and thousands of rivers and streams. Unique not only for its history and culture, Quebec is also a gastronomic delight, famous for its French inspired local cuisine and of course a nature lover's paradise, home to over 650 species including bears, beaver, bird of prey and many marine mammals.

Your experience beings in the historic heart of Montreal and there is time to recharge and explore this fascinating city before heading along the north shore of the St. Lawrence River to your next stop, Duchesnay Resort. On the shores on Lac Saint-Joseph, this is a resort for all seasons and home to a network of hiking trails, boating, water based and nature activities plus a variety of guided tours. During your stay, join a black bear viewing excursion, during which, beaver, white-tailed deer and several bird species can also be seen.

Your journey continues along the north shore of the St Lawrence through the picturesque communities of Baie St Paul and Pointe au Pic to your next destination, the small village of Tadoussac, at the mouth of the Saguenay Fjord, renowned for it's whale watching opportunities. Take advantage of the knowledge of an experienced naturalist as you venture out on the water in search of fin, minke, humpback and beluga whales that all frequent this region during the summer months.

After a ferry journey and drive to Cat-Chat, you will leave the car behind for a few days as you venture deep into the heart of the Matane Wildlife Reserve to spend time at Chic-Chocs Mountain Lodge. Spend your days exploring this untamed natural wilderness and a nature lovers delight, hiking, mountain biking and kayaking or join one of the daily guided hikes in search of Québec’s large cervids; moose, caribou and white-tailed deer, all of which are found in the reserve.

After reconvening with your car at Cap-Chat, the scenic south shore of the St Lawrence gently guides you to Rimouski for the night before arriving in Quebec City for a final few days.
