The M/S Quest is a perfect choice for a Svalbard or Greenland cruise offering great value, Scandinavian design and at a size half that of many of the large expedition ships.
The ship was built in Denmark in 1992 to navigate the icy waters of the west coast of Greenland. In 2004/2005 she was completely refurbished and has now a career as a small and comfortable expedition ship taking a maximum of 53 passengers in 26 cabins, all are en suite, located on the outside and have large sea view windows.
Quest has 7 cabin types and obviously there are limited numbers of certain cabin types. They range from the Owner's cabin to triple cabins and all. All cabins are equipped with separate air flow and temperature adjustment capabilities. The cost of a cruise is dependent on your choice of cabin.
The vessel is a perfect expedition ship with an easy accessible Zodiac gangway, through a hatch in the hull you just take one step and you are in a Zodiac and off exploring. Trips ashore or out looking for wildlife are usually taken twice a day. Quest also features full access to the bow and outer decks 360 degrees around the ship for convenient scenery and wildlife watching whilst cruising. There is also a comfortable panorama lounge on the top deck which offers 270 degree views. Conveniently this lounge also has a well stocked bar.
The open bridge policy contributes to a relaxed atmosphere on board. There is also a small library including DVD's. The dining room is comfortable and spacious enough to accommodate all passengers and expedition staff in one sitting. Breakfast and lunch are buffet style and the dinner is a combination of starters and salad buffet and served main course and desserts. The meals offer choice of fish, meat and vegetarian and special requirements can be taken into account.
Quest exceeds all safety requirements and is equipped with the latest communication and navigation equipment. She is a very comfortable vessel in which to cruise Arctic waters and the guides on board ensure that sailings are always popular.
