The enticingly clear waters of Ningaloo Reef, one of the most pristine in the world, are just a few steps across the sandy beach from Sal Salis This luxury safari camp on the edge of the Indian Ocean, 1 hour drive from Exmouth, is set in the white dunes and has just 9 spacious safari tents each on a wooden deck.

Each tent has an en suite bathroom and is furnished to ensure your complete comfort. The raised dining and lounge area is covered by flying sails and the views from the deck are divine.

As this is outback luxury there is of course emphasis on nature and the camp has a minimal impact and highly rated eco-credentials.

Activities are primarily centered around the beach and reef, which is just a few steps into the water. Colourful fish of all sizes, sharks, turtles and corals ensure this is a fascinating world to explore with the help of your professional guide as you snorkel just off shore. Open kayaks are also available for exploring the reef whilst on land guided walks in Cape Range National Park take you to Mandu Mandu where black-footed rock walliabies can be found, or to Yardie Creek, a gorge further down the coast. Kangaroos, wallaroos, wallabies, perenties and a good selection of bird life can be found including Australian bustards.

One of the highlights of Ningaloo Reef is the appearance each year of whale sharks, the world's largest fish, between April and July and special packages are available at this time. Also from April until August it is possible to do marine wildlife cruises in seach of manta rays, dugong, humpback whales and dolphins.

At night dine under a sky full of stars and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this friendly camp.
