Copa de Arbol Beach and Rainforest Resort is the grand and descriptive name of this small, boutique eco-hotel nestled on a small beach on the northern tip of the Osa Peninsula. Accessible only by boat this is an excellent base from which to explore the wonderful diversity of wildlife in Corcovado and out on the ocean at Drake Bay where humpback whales come to calve. It is also a fine place just to come and relax such is the small scale and lovely location of the hotel between the waves and the tropical forest.
There are just 10 cabinas, mostly raised on stilts with bedrooms at higher levels to catch the cooling breeze. Each is different but simply furnished with everything for a comfortable stay. Winding paths through the tropical gardens bring you back to the main reception with the restaurant again located higher up for views and breeze. Open plan it is perfectly sited for meals looking out over the ocean. Whilst the ocean is not really for swimming this is countered by a beautiful tiered infinity pool and Jacuzzi.
For those looking to end their holiday with some exploration of Corcovado as well as some relaxation this is the perfect place.
