Erongo Wilderness Lodge

This lodge is set among huge rounded hills and slabs of smooth pink granite on the edge of the Erongo mountains. It is an idyllic setting for a tented camp. The tents are set privately among granite boulders on which dassie sunbathe and rock runners sing in the mornings. The tents have double or twin beds and an open-air bathroom at the rear. All is covered by thatch. There is a wooden balcony at the front of the tent offering superb views across the arid bush to the tremendous rock scenery.

Tasty meals are served in the main lodge which also has a bar and overlooks a waterhole where a variety of wildlife are frequently seen. Adjacent to the lodge is a small pool, ideal for relaxing after a walk or drive. There is also a quiet lounge area above the pool. Other facilities include a gift shop. Activities are primarily based around walks either guided or self-guided although game drives are possible as is a visit to the ancient rock paintings at Paula's Cave. The lodge is owner run with very friendly staff.
