Mwaleshi Camp is the only camp in North Luangwa National Park and this alone should make it worth the effort in reaching for safari enthusiasts. Founded by John Coppinger of Remote Africa Safaris it is owner run it has built its reputation on simplicity and great guiding.
It is a small camp, just 4 reed huts with rugs on sandy floors and reed blinds pulled down of a night, open-air bathrooms and views to the Mwaleshi River. Hot water is supplied in the evenings after daytime activities. The kitchen and main area is an equally simple thatch but the food wholesome and the company relaxed. This is a wilderness camp in an almost untouched part of Zambia, far removed from South Luangwa further south. Wildlife is abundant and game drives and bush walks are key to exploring the park.
