Showcasing some idyllic properties in Costa Rica you will start your holiday with a couple of days surrounded by tropical cloudforest at a small luxury eco hotel where you can relax in nature, enjoy contemporary local, organic cuisine, the spa and yoga; or go birdwatching and perhaps plant a seedling. You may wish to spend the day exploring before returning to your individual cottage suite to soak in the hot tub listening to the sounds of the forest. This is a world removed from everyday life and the long flight over to Costa Rica.
Stress-free with natural elements is how we envisage this itinerary among our Costa Rica holidays. Next you descend to the famous backwaters where a high speed boat will deliver you to your small lodge in Tortuguero. A private boat is provided for a day spent nature spotting. Following this you will fly back to San Jose and transfer to Arenal Volcano. Here the Hanging Bridges are a relaxing, if high level, antidote as you spend time in the forest canopy. An afternoon walk in the national park is followed by bathing in the thermal waters of a small resort.
A private transfer next brings you to the Pacific Coast beaches. You can discover Carara National Park, a hotspot for species from both North and South America and you may find scarlet macaws noisily flying overhead. Further south is Marino Ballena National Park, a marine reserve where humpback whales come to calve. The villas here are truly wonderful, with sleek design looking out from a ridge over the ocean.
It is soon time to wind your way further south to Golfito for a boat transfer into the splendidly isolated Playa Cativo. Backed by dense rainforest and hemmed into a small bay on these quiet waters this outstanding little gem is the perfect, private place to relax at the end of the trip.
