The Pacific Coast of Costa Rica has amazing diversity from long strands of white sand to tiny hidden coves in a rocky coastline; from black volcanic beaches to beautiful crescents of sand washed by azure blue waters. The popular areas: Tamarindo, Samara, Jaco, Manuel Antonio, Uvita are well catered for but in keeping with our concept of Wildlife & Wilderness we have chosen a number of hotels and lodges that provide some tranquillity between the forest and the sea. A place where you might wake to the sound of waves breaking, howler monkeys waking, or scarlet macaws calling. The sounds of the tropics.
Whilst activities or excursions are on offer we feel the following places, that can be found in our accommodation selection below, offer the perfect tonic to stress. Yoga is often a prevalent feature of the lodges and hotels but actually time spent lazing under the warm sun can be just as therapeutic.
Some of those you might choose from are Punta Islita or Harmony on the Nicoya Peninsula, Alama de Pacifico in the Central Pacific, or Copa de Arbol, El Remanso and Lapa Rios on the Osa Peninsula; or finally the delightful hideaway that is Playa Cativo on the Golfo Dulce reached by boat 30min from Golfito or Puerto Jimenez. Let us know the type of place you would like to unwind and we will talk enthusiastically through what Costa Rica can offer. We know the perfect places with a balance between beach culture and nature.
