Escape to a hidden gem in Swedish Lapland and explore the snow laden forests, dine on home-style Swedish cuisine and enjoy the good company and genuine hospitality of your hosts, Liza and Niklas.

Arctic Retreat is tucked away in the forest and nestled at the foot of Raven Rapid in the Råne River Valley. This eco-retreat is the inspiration of Liza and Niklas who have created a truly special place for just 10 guests, staying in 3 log cabins.

Whether you seek adventure or solitude, you will find it here. A short outing is included each day with your hosts, during which a delicious wilderness lunch will be prepared and served around the fire. You may also choose to include additional experiences from the fantastic range of activities available, all led by local partners where a high level of service can be expected and enjoyed.

Day 1:
Just an hour north of Lulea Airport, you will arrive at Arctic Retreat and spend the afternoon exploring this peaceful haven nestled in the river valley. Dinner will be served in the cosy log cabin restaurant and afterwards you may wish to sit around the fire pit with follow guests while you watch the night skies for signs of the aurora borealis.

Day 2:
In addition to a short activity and outdoor lunch with your hosts today, we have also included two fantastic experiences to make the most of your stay. However, this is your Swedish journey, so if you would prefer different activities this can certainly be arranged.

Flavours of the 8 Seasons | Discover the world of Swedish Lapland and enjoy a unique experience of the regions’ nature and culture on an informative and entertaining journey with food & culture connoisseur, Eva Gunnare.

Northern Lights Snowshoe Walk | This evening, the aim is to catch a glimpse of the northern lights on a snowshoe walk from camp. Equipped with winter clothing, snowshoes and head torches you’ll head to a high point and a clear view to the north to hopefully enjoy a spectacular lightshow accompanied by outdoor fika. 'Fika' is a Swedish lifestyle tradition that involves taking time out to enjoy coffee and a sweet bun.

Day 3:
We have left today free for your own activities, and there are many to choose from, most of which are conducted privately. From Nordic classics like snowshoeing and cross-country skiing to moose safari’s and ice-fishing, the options are plentiful. Choose a snowmobile or husky tour, discover Sami culture or keep the food theme going on a culinary tour with a guest chef. Whichever adventure you choose, end the day relaxing back at the retreat. Book time in the sauna, treat yourself to a classic Swedish massage or relax in the warm waters of your own private jacuzzi, while you watch the northern lights dance overhead.

Day 4:
As your stay at Arctic Retreat comes to an end, you may wish to continue your Swedish adventure with a stay in another unique property. Transfers can be arranged other destinations such as Icehotel, Treehotel or Loggers Lodge or you may head back to the airport, taking home fond memories of beautiful Sweden.
