This 7-day self-drive follows an exciting route to this stunning region and along the way you will experience more of Iceland's diverse landscapes, incredible natural attractions and even make your own 'Journey to the centre of the Earth'.
From the airport, head straight out to the countryside and the luxurious ION Hotel. From here you are perfectly placed to explore the iconic Golden Circle which takes in three popular attractions, Thingvellir, Geysir and Gullfoss.
Spectacular waterfalls are next on the agenda as you make the drive a little further north to Hotel Husafell. It is from here that you will make your own journey into the underworld as you venture 'Into the Glacier' on a mesmerising tour inside Langjökull.
The final leg of your journey takes you to the long arm of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula where whale watching and wild west beaches await. Discover the fishing villages, marvel at the impressive towering sea cliffs with their flocks of nesting birds and witness the impressive Snæfellsjökull glacier, which can be explored by snowmobile during the winter months. Spend your evenings at the traditional Hotel Budir and dine on imaginative Icelandic cuisine in full view of the glacier itself.
Showcasing some of Iceland's best natural features this self-drive can be taken in both summer and winter, with each season offering the same unique experiences, authentic Icelandic hospitality and mouth-watering cuisine.
