Diverse India at it's very best. Start your holiday with a few of the classic sites of India, the Jama Masjid and Old Delhi, the ever impressive Taj Mahal, the famous monument to love at Agra and the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri. After an overnight in Bharatpur you can then take a walk with a naturalist to discover some of the prolific birdlife of the nearby sanctuary. Ranthambore is your next destination and a terrific tiger reserve and with several game drives here there are good chances of seeing the elusive tiger as well as other wildlife of the forests. Continue on to bustle of the old pink city of Jaipur and the classic Rajasthani fort-palace of Amber Fort.
Flying direct from Jaipur to Bangalore you travel onwards to Mysore, a world away from Rajasthan and the north. There is time to explore the city with it's magnificent palace before continuing to Nagarhole National Park in the Nilgiri hills. Leopards are one of the highlights of this park where wild elephant roam and tiger can also be found. In fact on our last visit we saw all three in one afternoon together with some other great sightings such as the large, stripe-necked mongoose.
Next you'll head to the coffee plantations of Coorg before descending to the Malabar Coast of Kerala which is sure to be warm, green and very pleasant. There is time to enjoy floating along the backwaters in a converted rice boat. This is the perfect antidote to the frenetic north and you can watch village life drift by or look out for fish eagles.
The palm-fringed beaches of Kerala are superb and make for a classic end to a trip through India. A small, beachside boutique hotel is our choice to round off this memorable journey.
