Experience a genuine Swedish welcome and an authentic Lapland experience for the whole family at Sörbyn Lodge. Staying in hotel rooms or cabins, you are free to use the communal guest lounge and dining room at leisure to relax or mingle with like-minded guests between exciting winter adventures. Dine daily on delicious breakfasts, hearty lunches and mouth-watering evening meals in Restaurant Kallkällan, where Arctic flavours are creatively combined with the freshest local ingredients to create memorable meals.
Whether you are travelling with family, friends or as a couple, your Sörbyn experience can be tailored to your own requirements but with so much to choose from we've helped you out with the following itinerary, just to give you an idea of what's available.
Day 1:
Arrive at Sörbyn Lodge and settle into your chosen accommodation before heading to Restaurant Kallkällan where you are invited to dine on a fabulous menu inspired by northern food cultures.
Day 2:
Begin your holiday with some simple fun in the snow and get creative with huge snow-blocks in a family snow-sculpting session. Test your sculpting skills and use your imagination to create a castle, a throne or your very own igloo. After lunch experience the pleasure of a genuine Norrland wood-fired sauna during a private family session. For a truly authentic and invigorating experience, the 'brave at heart' can take a dip in the icy waters of the lake before warming up once again.
Day 3:
Enjoy an Arctic highlight and spend a whole day with huskies. Begin with a snowshoe hike accompanied by some of the dogs who love to sniff out a good trail. You may choose to have your own husky on a ‘belly-belt’ and feel their power as they help you along through the deep powder snow. Chat about life in Lapland over lunch and afterwards head out again, this time at a faster pace by husky drawn sled. After an exhilarating ride, warm up with hot chocolate before heading back to the lodge.
Day 4:
Free time with family is on the agenda today but with so many other activities available you may wish to partake in some ice-fishing, a thrilling snowmobile safari or opt for a little culture and spend time with a Sami family at a traditional reindeer farm. As evening arrives the fun continues when you venture out to seek the northern lights by traditional Swedish kick-sled. Glide into the darkness on the ice-covered lake and lean back on you sled, hot drink in hand, to watch the night skies for a colourful light show, courtesy of Mother Nature.
Day 5:
You time at Sörbyn Lodge has come to an end and you will transfer back the airport today for your flight home. If you are not quite ready to leave Lapland, you may choose to continue your travels with a stay at another lodge or retreat, transfers can be arranged.
