Tropical Express

To get you into the safari spirit right away we have kept this short safari close to South Luangwa's Mfuwe Gate. Whilst a little busier than the more remote areas of this park there is of course plenty of wildlife to keep any safari enthusiast happy. An early morning game drive the next morning is sure to set the scene for the next couple of days. As such this itinerary is suitable for anyone wanting to dip their toe into trying safaris or those who have travelled Africa previously. Whichever type of traveller you are you are sure to feel the charm of the African bush as Zambia remains somewhat off of most itineraries yet offers a truly warm welcome.

In the middle of the week a short flight takes you to Lilongwe, Malawi's capital from where you can either head to the coast of Lake Malawi by road or take another short hop to Likoma Island and the delightful boutique beach-front lodge of Kaya Mawa.

At Kaya Mawa wonderful individual cottages will greet you and the warm waters and sandy beaches are most inviting. With nothing too much to do, perhaps sailing, or snorkelling with Lake Malawi colourful cichilds, coastal walks or exploring the village market; there is also plenty of time to unwind as enjoy the warmth of the African sun.
