North Frontier Cabins

Nestled in the serene woodlands of Laanila, just 3 km from the heart of Saariselkä, this charming cluster of cosy cottages offers the perfect winter retreat for families and groups of friends.

Each cabin combines comfort and Nordic charm and there are accommodation choices for everyone. The Studio Cabins and Aurora Hut Kota provide ample space for up to 2 people, with the latter offering unforgettable views of the northern sky from the queen-size double bed, set beneath a sloping glass ceiling.  The spacious and welcoming 1-bedroom cabins offer a little more space for up to 4 guests with open-plan living sitting alongside the private bedroom. For families or groups of up to six guests the semi-detached 2-bedroom cabins are the perfect choice. Although the interiors and amenities vary slightly between each cabin, they all offer kitchen facilities, a private sauna, and bathroom with shower and toilet and some also boast a log burner. If you need a break from cooking during your stay, guests can also enjoy delicious meals, from breakfast through to dinner, in the relaxed, inviting atmosphere of Kuksa Restaurant, located just beside the cottages.

Surrounded by breathtaking nature, the cabins provide direct access to hiking, cross-country skiing, and walking trails right from the doorstep. There are plenty of opportunities for a wide range of guided outdoor adventures too, from husky sledding and snowmobile safaris to reindeer experiences, all conducted in small groups for a more personal, unhurried experience.

During the ski season, a convenient ski-bus stops nearby to whisk you into Saariselkä where you can hit the slopes or just spend time in the charming alpine village.
