With a genuine passion for sled dogs and 28 years of running the husky farm and dog sled safaris, Beana Laponia do multi-safari safaris with a difference. Here, there is no ‘roughing it’ involved. No wilderness cabins, no sharing bunk rooms, no camping out…. just exhilarating dog sled safaris coupled with pure luxury, fabulous Finnish Flavours and the privacy of your own ensuite accommodation for a restful night’s sleep each evening.
Day 1
Settle into your new surroundings and enjoy a relaxing first first evening in Lapland at Beana Laponia. This small boutique Arctic retreat has been designed exclusively for adults and offers just 11 guest rooms, each a sanctuary of peace and relaxation.
Day 2
Once of the best way to experience the Lappish landscapes is by dog sled safari and today you will learn from the experts so panic not if you have no prior experience. Sharing a dog team, sled and driving time with your partner, todays safari will take you on a 25km journey along the beautiful and private forest trails, climbing to the top of fells and diving deep into arctic forests. There really is nothing quite like a journey through deep powder snow with the wind on your face and excitement surging through your body. Back at Beana Laponia this afternoon, reflect on your experience as you warm up in the sauna and outdoor jacuzzi before dining on delicious flavours in the restaurant.
Day 3
Spend a second day out on the trails! Today will take an alternative route along beautiful forest trails, once again with exclusive use so a private and personal outing is assured. With more confidence today, you will stay out for longer and travel further, enjoying a delicious warm soup lunch by the fire along the way. Back at the kennels, bid farewell to your canine companions before returning to the lodge for final relaxing evening. If you still crave more husky fun, you may choose to add an evening safari and traverse the trails after dark in search of the northern lights.
Day 4
Make the most of your final morning and head out after breakfast to explore on snowshoes or forest skis, or take a toboggan for some grown-up snow fun. You will transfer back to the airport around lunchtime unless you choose to stay for longer or you may wish to extend your holiday with a city break in Helsinki on the way back home.
