Jansens Bungalow

Good accommodation close to Sinharaja Forest Reserve is hard to find, yet family-run Jansen’s Bungalow is both accessible and more than comfortable for a stay of several nights. The main bungalow houses a lounge with dining area and the wrap-around terrace that overlooks the surrounding hills and valley below. Other rooms are located behind the main building, and they too have views out to the forests.

The rooms have their own character and all are air-conditioned and are en suite. Steps and paths lead between them and back to the main building. The advantage of this property is its proximity to the entrance office for Sinharaja Forest Reserve; the entrance to the reserve itself is high up a motorable track in the hills that overlook Jansen’s. It lies on a steep hillside and so some climbing and descending can be expected, particularly if you venture down to the stream.
