Iisakki Village
A collection of accommodations close to Ruka for adventure activities & skiing
Reminiscent of an old farmstead, Iisakki Village consists of an atmospheric collection of accommodations to suit all tastes; from log cabins to glass villas. At its heart you will find a comprehensive range of services; reception, Iisakin Talo Restaurant, along with outdoor fireplaces, both a public and private sauna, and a whole host of year-round activities. Just 10-minutes away by bus is the small but bustling ski resort of Ruka.
Iisakki Guest House is located on the top floor of the reception in the heart of Iisakki Village. The guest house offers comfortable accommodation in four hotel-style rooms, each with a private bathroom and TV. The rooms also share a spacious lounge and kitchen facilities.
At Wilderness Hotel Papin Talo, 6 twin guestrooms, with private ensuite bathroom facilities, are complimented by the shared common areas that offer a relaxing space in which to unwind between activities or chat with other guests.
Iisakki Village is also home to the stunningly beautiful Iisakki Glass Villas, located on the shore of lake Rukajärvi. Floor to ceiling glass windows and a glass roof make for spectacular views whether you travel in summer or winter and each of the 10 villas are equipped with a kitchenette, bathroom and double bed.
For larger groups and families there are a collection of cosy log cottages, including Villa Rukan Huurre. Connected by a covered porch, there are 2 log chalets each accommodating up to 10 people in four bedrooms and open sleeping loft. Booked separately, or together for larger families and groups, each chalet boasts 2 bathrooms and a private sauna, and the spacious and comfortable living area allows for some great family evenings relaxing together by the open fire.
Another great family choice is the rustic and cosy, Alinan Tupa Cottage. With 5 bedrooms it sleeps up to 10 people comfortably and offers a fully equipped kitchen, spacious living room with flat screen TV and fireplace. The cottage also houses its own private sauna and is positioned just 50m from the lake and village amenities.
Whichever accommodation you choose, during your stay at Iisakki Village you can experience a whole host of unique adventures in the stunning natural surroundings during summer and winter. In summer you are free to make use of the rowing boat, canoes, sup-boards and outdoor fireplaces and, when the snows arrive, fatbikes and snowshoes can be hired from the nearby Safari House.
To complete your experience there is an outdoor Jacuzzi and Finnish lakeside sauna, the perfect place to watch the dark night skies for signs of the northern lights or bask under the midnight sun.
