With a countryside setting on the shores of Lake Rukajärvi, Iisakki Glass Village offers just 10 Glass Villas, perfect for two, for the quintessential short winter break. Each villa comes equipped with a double bed, en suite bathroom and a small kitchenette, however the main attraction is the floor to ceiling windows and glass roof which offers stunning views to the outside world. Even with the curtains closed for privacy you are still exposed to the starry night skies for the ultimate in aurora observation right from your bed.
During this short break you are free to relax in the warmth of your villa but you shouldn't miss the opportunity to wrap up warm and head outdoors. There are many winter pursuits on offer, including downhill skiing in nearby Ruka, and to get you started, we have included a 20km snowmobile safari which allows you to explore a little further afield and experience the beautiful snow covered landscapes. Back at the village, borrow a sledge and head to the hills or explore the trails closer to home with complimentary use of snowshoes and forest skis. A special treat awaits on one evening of your stay when you will head out on snowshoes in the company of a guide to seek the northern lights.
Dine on delicious breakfasts and evening dinners in the nearby restaurant and indulge in an authentic Finnish lakeside sauna and jacuzzi before settling down by the outdoor fireplace under the northern night skies where you can cosy up together and watch for the northern lights.
