Located in a beautiful setting close to the shores of Lake Inari and surrounded by pristine wilderness, the untouched landscapes that surround Wilderness Hotel Nellim are just waiting to be explored.

On this unforgettable family winter getaway, enthusiastic and experienced guides, with an outstanding knowledge of Lappish culture and traditions, will help you make the most of each day with a variety of family-friendly activities.

Meet the curious reindeer and hand-feed them lichen, try your luck at ice fishing on a frozen lake, and strap on snowshoes to explore off the beaten track in the deep powder snow. A husky safari through the wintry landscape is sure to be one of the highlights of your stay.

After dark, you’ll have the chance to search for the awe-inspiring aurora borealis. An evening trip will take you out to a remote wilderness cabin for a few key hours where uninterrupted vistas of the northern night skies set the perfect stage for natures dazzling light show. Thanks to the far north-eastern location of this retreat, around 275km above the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland, your chances of witnessing this spectacular natural wonder are remarkably high.

To maximise your chances why not spend your final night in an Aurora Cabin. These very special accommodations offer fabulous views to the Arctic night sky through the laser-heated glass ceiling, offering the ultimate in aurora viewing.
