Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort resides in the northern reaches of Finnish Lapland boasting a beautiful setting, and the surrounding landscapes can be enjoyed in both autumn and winter in a multitude of ways.

Whenever you choose to travel, the northern lights are no doubt high on your bucket list and both seasons offer ample opportunities to achieve this goal. The first auroras usually appear in late August and this amazing phenomenon can be witnessed throughout both seasons right through until late March or even early April.

In autumn, before the snows arrive, explore by quad bike, hike or ride with huskies or explore the national park on horse-back. In winter, when the temperatures drop and snow blankets the ground, swap your mode of transport to snowmobiles, husky drawn sleds and snowshoes, to name but a few. We have suggested and included some of our favourite activities for this short break, however you are free to make any changes. 

After days exploring the great outdoors, dine on delicious flavours in the restaurant before retiring to comfort of your traditional log cabin to spend lazy nights by the log fire or relaxing in your own sauna. Your first or final night will be spent in one of Finland's most famous glass igloo's, recently upgraded to now include full ensuite facilities and your own private sauna. So, pop the champagne on ice and cosy on up for an unforgettable evening under the stars.

Kakslauttanen may be famous for its Glass Igloo Village but why not go one step better and choose accommodation that truly surpasses expectations… the Kelo-Glass Igloo. Sleeping 2 to 6 people the Kelo-Glass Igloos combine the warmth and comfort of a traditional log cabin with the unique luxury of a glass igloo bedroom, allowing you to sleep under the star every night of your stay.
