Set beside a peaceful frozen lake and surrounded by pristine northern forest, Oivangin Lomakartano offers an authentic Lapland escape just 15 minutes from Ruka and Kuusamo. With just 6 private log cabins, this family-run retreat combines traditional Finnish charm with modern comforts.

Guests on this snowmobile adventure typically stay in the spacious 4-bedroom Pikku-Junga cabin, which accommodates up to 8 guests in comfortable twin bedrooms. Spend your evenings relaxing by the open log fire, enjoying the private sauna, or head to the outdoor hot tub nextdoor to the restaurant, to soak up the peaceful surroundings under the Arctic night skies. Begin and end each day of adventure at the traditional log-built Restaurant Ukonkivi, where locally sourced ingredients are transformed into hearty Finnish dishes. 

Snowmobile Adventures
This holiday is all about experiencing Lapland from the seat of your own snowmobile. Each day you will head out with an experienced private guide to explore an incredible network of trails winding through forests, across frozen lakes and into remote wilderness areas.

You'll ride through some of the region's most spectacular scenery, from the snow-covered forests surrounding Kuusamo to the breathtaking landscapes of Kuntivaara Fell. Wide-open frozen lakes provide the perfect opportunity to open the throttle and experience the power of your snowmobile, while narrow woodland trails and rolling hills offer a more technical ride. Pause each journey to enjoy traditional wilderness lunches served fire side and embrace the chance to relax, take in the views, and refuel, before continuing your Arctic adventure.

Authentic Lapland Experiences
As well as unforgettable snowmobiling, this holiday also offers the opportunity to enjoy some of Lapland's most iconic winter experiences. Try your hand at traditional ice fishing on frozen Lake Kitkajärvi, visit a traditional reindeer farm to enjoy a peaceful sleigh ride and meet an enthusiastic team of huskies for an exhilarating taste of dog sledding through the snowy wilderness. Combined, these experiences offer a true taste of life in the Arctic. 

If all of this isn’t enough, you may choose to stay for longer and include additional winter activities such as ice karting, guided fat bike tours, snowshoeing and even extra snowmobile safaris to further enhance your Arctic escape.

Difficulty

You should be mobile and with a reasonable degree of fitness for snowmobile safaris. A full driving licence is required and previous snowmobile experience is recommended.

Minumum age is 18 years.
