From a comfortable base in beautiful Iisakki Village on the shores of Lake Rukajärvi and just a 10-minute drive from Ruka, spend your days exploring this stunning winter wonderland.
During the week, you will learn the skills required to ride a snowmobile, mush your own team of dogs on a husky safari and lasso a reindeer. Embrace Finnish culture with an authentic wood heated sauna experience and on one evening you'll head out in search of the northern lights by snowshoe. Free time allows an opportunity to explore independently by snowshoe or forest skis, and for a little downhill action take the local skibus into the village of Ruka where the multifaceted ski area is suited to both beginners and experts alike.
After each exhilarating day, return to the warmth and comfort of Wilderness Hotel Papin Talo or the Iisakki Guest House, both of which offer a home away from home with their relaxed Finnish ambiance. You may choose to upgrade your accommodation to stay in one of the villages Glass Villas with floor to ceiling windows and a glass roof allowing you to sleep warmly under the stars. Regardless of your accommodation choice, dine daily at breakfast and evening dinner with a changing menu of tasty Finnish fare and northern delicacies at the village restaurant.
