Day 1 | Depart UK - Arrive Rovaniemi
Fly from London or Manchester to Rovaniemi and transfer by SkiBus to Hotel Aurora in Luosto. This small village, located about 100km north of the Arctic Circle, is an area of natural beauty with a peaceful environment set close to a National Park. Famous for its charming logwood cabins built in traditional style, Luosto offers all the charm of Lapland coupled with fabulous downhill skiing and snowboarding opportunities.
After settling into your room, head down to the dining room where a delightful 3-course dinner will be served. There will be time later to dress up warm and venture out after dark in search of the northern lights before returning to the warmth of your own personal sauna in your room.
Day 2 | Discover Lapland
Enjoy a lazy morning discovering the delights of Luosto before todays visit to a nearby reindeer farm. There you will learn a little about life as a reindeer herder in Lapland and experience a memorable sleigh ride through the snowy forests before warming up with hot coffee and buns around the fire.
Back at the hotel there is a little time to relax before an early dinner, then it's back into your Arctic suits to hit the snowmobile trails after dark. Journey through snow laden forests and across frozen lakes as you are guided through the dark to an ideal spot to seek out the northern lights. Sip warm berry juice around the campfire and listen as your guide tells stories of Lapland and the legends that surround the aurora. Be sure to keep watch on the dark night skies with your fingers crossed for some magical displays.
Day 3 | Husky Safari
Become a musher for the day on a memorable dog sled safari. After meeting the dogs and some valuable tuition you will set off, 2 persons per sled, on a tour crossing forests and lakes, taking turns at the helm. Speeding along the trails in almost total silence is a truly wonderful feeling that brings smiles to the faces of young and old. Stops will be made along the way for lunch and hot drinks, allowing you to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Day 4 | Depart Finland
Your adventure is almost at an end so after breakfast maybe take one last walk around the village before your SkiBus transfer back to the airport.
